Mayor of St Helens visits LPRC

The Mayor of St Helens, Councillor Geoff Almond met with powerboat racers and their teams on Saturday 2nd June at the National Powerboat Championships at Carr Mill Dam, St Helens.

Brenda Goodman, Commodore of Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club, greeted the Mayor and accompanied him on his visit. Brenda said:  "We were delighted to welcome the Mayor to Lancashire Powerboat Racing Club, and personally I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to meet him and show him around our event.”

Brenda continued: “We are keen to continue to work alongside the Council and build on the support that they are already providing us on hosting our events. The local powerboat drivers, as well as those who travelled to our event from elsewhere in the country, were all delighted to be given the chance to meet and talk to the Mayor, it was great to see him take such a keen interest in our event and activities."
